About us

People Person is a hospitality recruitment consultancy created by Pawel Kukulka - a hospitality veteran with 13 years Michelin Star experience under his belt.

Pawel, owner of People Person recruitment agency looking into the distance

I fell into hospitality accidentally - just like most of us.

My first role as Flat Surfaces Preservation Specialist (ok, ok - read Kitchen Porter) put me on a trajectory I couldn’t have ever anticipated.

Within 2 years I moved into the Front of House. A couple of years later, I became a certified Sommelier and a year later managed my first property as a General Manager. Quite a busy 5 years if you ask me!

The highlight of my career was joining Michelin Starred 21212 in Edinburgh, Scotland where I stayed for 4 years as a Restaurant Manager under the wing of legendary Paul Kitching.

Like many of us in the hospitality industry, I had begun to ask questions about whether this intense lifestyle was for me. One question led to another and ultimately in 2019 I decided to try the 9-5 office life.

See... my problem was that hospitality was (is!) my obsession, love and addiction.

Have you ever tried putting down a hot slice of pizza? Quitting smoking?

It's hard, right?

This is why I wanted to still stay in the trenches - just on the other side.

These days I channel my passion into helping businesses build the right team and candidates find the right roles.

As a headhunter I stay true to my core values - I only work for businesses that want to be part of the transition for good within the hospitality industry.

People-driven and people-focused businesses who believe that the industry can no longer take employees for granted. That's the People Person way.

As a recruiter, I've had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest names in the hospitality industry.

This includes the World’s most famous whisky producer, the best British golf course, the World’s 17th best 5-star hotel, 2 and 3 Michelin Star restaurants and international private members clubs.
